More from Ellen

We entered Jordan yesterday and even in customs I was aware of the difference because of the way women were covered and of course signs in Arabic. Our guide told us this is a country of 6 million with about 3 million illegals including refugees from Syria and other countries. Apparently the Egyptisn illegals are mad at the Syrians for not only taking their jobs but at a much lower price.

Housing has tripled in price from $70k to over $250k  due to Iraqi investments  in real estate. This is for a 3-bedroom apt in Amman, the capital city.

The terrain is quite different fromIsrael as the land is pretty barren and dry. In Israel  much of the land is green due to the drip irrigation, but here I see few patches of green. There is also a lot of trash on the streets because the Arabs don't think anything if it whereas Israel is quite clean. The trash issue is cultural.
